Dear friends & members of Straburg Presbyterian Church March 19, 2020
The situation with the Coronavirus panic is fast moving. What we knew last week...even yesterday, is different today.
We can complain all we want that it has been overblown, it’s just the flu etc. But the facts are that it is deadly. Federal, State. Local as well as our Denomination, the PCUSA, have stressed that we should refrain from meeting in groups larger than 10 people, until this pandemic eases.
I’d like you to think about the consequences if we were to continue to meet and the worse would happen to even one of the beloved people in our congregation. The guilt on our conscience would be overwhelming. The time has passed for us to show how proud we are. The time has passed for us to say, “Damn the urging of government to take precautions, I’m doing what I want.”
Everyone reading this loves to worship and fellowship. Our Session has prayerfully voted to pause our in-person worship until it is deemed sensible to resume. The pause in our in-person worship will take place immediately. I will continue to be available to you, should a need arise. I will come to your home, offer communion, pray with you etc. Please know that Session labored over this “pause” decision.
We are not use to feeling out of control. One way we can counter that is to be active in doing good things for other people. I am challenging each one of you… not just the Deacons… to call someone different everyday...Check in on them ...How are they? … Is there anything you can do for them?
If you think that sounds like simple good works...you are right! And God does not need our good works… But our neighbor does! Continue to pray… especially for those who are in at risk situations. We will be sending out each week, a printed sermon as well as the Bulletin to all of you. Strasburg Presbyterian Church continues to have bills to pay… Insurance, utilities, property taxes etc. We still need your offering. You can mail your offering to Strasburg Presbyterian Church, PO Box 300, Strasburg Colorado 80136.
God tells us in Joshua 1:9...Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lordyour God will be with you wherever you go.”

WHAT DO WE TEACH?
We use both the Old Testament and the Gospels as the foundation for our faith and the inspiration for our daily lives. We put those teachings into practice at home and at work.
WHAT ARE OUR CORE VALUES?
Just as Jesus said in the Beatitudes, blessed are the poor and the hungry. Our mission is not just to love one another, but to make sure we spread the love of the Gospels everywhere.
